Because He Lives
In the heart of life’s tempests and trials, the steadfastness of God's goodness becomes most evident. It's simple to extol His virtues from the peaks of joy, yet it’s in our valleys of challenge where His presence truly manifests its depth. This profound truth resonates through my spirit as I reflect on the essence of our faith, particularly in the light of Easter—a celebrated day, yet only a single day amongst the myriad where He continually lives and reigns.
Our journey through the book of Hebrews, especially chapter 7, reinforces this conviction. Hebrews isn’t just a narrative; it’s a testament to Jesus being superior, contrasting the old covenant with the new covenant He established.
Today, I'm reminded that our lives are a sequence of mountaintops and valleys. We either emerge from a storm or brace ourselves to weather a new one. Yet, amidst these fluctuations, a constant remains: Jesus. He is not just a historical figure; He is alive, and His resurrection isn’t just a past event—it's the current and ongoing source of our hope and strength.
This reality pivots on the powerful notion that Jesus, through His death and resurrection, established a priesthood not bound by ancestry or human frailty but anchored in an indestructible life. He is our high priest forever, not through a lineage of temporary priests but in the order of Melchizedek—eternal, perfect, and unending.
What does this mean for us, practically and spiritually? It means that because He lives, our approach to life transforms. We're not bound to the old rites of temporary atonements but are graced with a permanent solution through Christ. This assurance isn’t confined to the spiritual realms but infiltrates our everyday moments, our decisions, our crises, and our celebrations.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow with confidence, not because the path is devoid of obstacles, but because I'm assured of who walks beside me. My challenges don’t disappear, but their impact diminishes in the light of His sovereignty. Each trial serves a purpose, molding and shaping my faith, making it robust and alive.
Reflecting on this, I invite you to consider what's different in your life because He lives. For me, it's a life lived not in fear but in faith, not in doubt but in certainty. I don't just survive each day; I thrive, knowing that the outcome is secured in His capable hands.
As we continue to navigate through the highs and lows, may we always be aware of the profound difference His living presence makes. It's not just about acknowledging His existence; it's about experiencing His power and grace continuously at work within us. And this, dear friends, is the true celebration of Easter—every day.
